Pairing Wines and Foods: White Wine with Fish, Red with Beef…But Why?

Learn the art and theory behind pairing wines with foods at a special “Breaking The Code” wine tasting event at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse on October 9th.

Crisp, zingy Sauvignon Blancs and rich, buttery Chardonnays often work better with seafood than red wines, but why?  Pappas Bros. sommelier staff will serve you wines and foods they’ve paired together so you can taste the answer. Does beef taste better with an uncomplicated red or a more complex wine? Taste a white wine that seems to break all the rules–it’s a perfect pairing for a big steak.

Master Sommelier and EscapeHatchDallas wine editor Barb Werley will teach you the rules – and when and when not to bend them.

(And after that, you can order all the red wine online to pair it at home.)

The “Breaking The Code” tasting costs $45 per person (plus tax and gratuity) and begins at 6:00 p.m. Reservations are required.
