In my opinion, a &quot;classic&quot; cocktail is one that has stood the test of time, is balanced, and is fashioned using a classical method of preparation. It also has a place in history, like a Crusta, Sazerac, French 75 or a Bloody Mary. (A great story never hurts either.)
