Last week, I told you that legendary Tex-Mex restaurateur Mico Rodriguez was planning to open Pinky Chan’s, a quick-service Asian concept that Rodriguez predicted would sell “lots and lots of spring rolls.” Now, a reputable source tells me, the deal is off.
Seems Rodriguez, the founder of the Mi Cocina chain, wasn’t pleased that his investment partner ponied up less than Rodriguez had wanted. I’m told that an ensuing riff between the restaurateur and his money supply can’t be bridged.
So, for now, the vacant TomTom Asian Noodle space will not become Pinky Chan’s.
At least not this week.
