AIWF Dallas Announces Chef Line-Up For Annual Caesar Salad Competition

The Dallas chapter of the American Institute of Wine and Food has announced the chef’s lineup for their annual Caesar Salad Competition, which will be held October 30, 2011, at the Westin Galleria Dallas.

The annual competition is the groups signature fundraising event for Days of Taste, the AIWF’s national food-discovery program, whose goal is to encourage students to explore healthy food.

The Dallas chapter hosts Dallas Independent school Distric’s 4th and 5th graders for one week each spring and each fall at the Dallas farmers market, where students learn about food origins and the farm-to-table journey of food.

“They learn that food is not merely wrapped-up in a package handed out a window at a drive-through,” says the AIWF press release.

Here’s this year’s lineup of chef competitors:

Kent Rathbun (Abacus), George Brown (caterer), Jim Severson (Sevy’s Grill), James Neal (Tramontana), Samir Dhurandhar (Nick and Sam’s), Gilbert Garza (Suze), Doug Brown (Beyond the Box), Brian Luscher (The Grape), David Holben (Del Frisco’s), Janice Provost (Parigi), John Tesar (Commissary), David Smith (Westin Galleria).
