Great chef lineup for Community Cooks fundraiser April 19

On April 19, a group of chefs will host A Community Cooks, a fundraiser that benefits the small farm and garden for the culinary program at Dallas’ Paul Quinn College. Ten percent of everything grown in the garden is donated to the local community.

Jeff Harris (Bolsa), Janice Provost (Parigi’s), Matt McCallister (Campo and FT33), Randall Copeland (Restaurant Ava and Boulevardier), Tim Bevins (Craft), Tre Wilcox (Marquee Grill & Bar), Jason Maddy (Oak), Jon Stevens (Nosh and Snack), Graham Dodd’s (Central 214), Orazio La Manna (Dallas Cowboys chef) and Brent Hammer (Hibiscus) will prepare and serve dinner. Tickets to the event, to be held at The Farm at Paul Quinn College, cost $75. The event swings into action at 5 p.m.

“A Community Cooks celebrates the Farm’s accomplishments and raises resources to help expand the Farm’s ability to combat the food desert surrounding Paul Quinn College,” writes the group’s spokesperson, Lindsey Miller.  “The Farm brings healthy food to the neighborhood by donating a minimum of 10 percent of all items grown to those in need.”
