Once-trendy Vapiano closed, Wild Cat Tavern taking over Mockingbird Station space
By Mike Hiller
You knew it was coming. As Lauren Daniels at the Dallas Observer wrote this morning, Vapiano, the 2009 Hot New Concept (Nations Restaurant News) in Mockingbird Station, has closed…or rather, has been forced to vacate the premises.
The landlord saw it coming, too. Taking Vapiano’s place: Wild Cat Tavern, yet another new casual concept from Restaurants America. (RA also owns PrimeBar, Townhouse and the soon-to-open Boca Chica in the Shops at Park Lane.)

I think the name is now Mockingbird Tap Room, but it keeps evolving.
I second The Bob. Vapiano’s was more concept than cuisine.
Update: I’m hearing that the name Wild Cat Tavern is “evolving,” and may be changed.
Good news for those of us who frequent Mockingbird Station. Vapiano won’t be missed.
