yep, even chef bruno davaillon stands in line to be awed by chef sharon hage

The Mansion on Turtle Creek brought in nearly every Rosewood chef (plus some Dallas chefs) for TACA party last weekend

sharon hage kept it simple and perfect (of course): fresh goat milk ricotta, spring peas, mint, pea shoots. Damn, we miss Sharon

nice guy. Food just okay.

good tunes

Christina LaBarba took a break from organizing Chefs for Farmers to schmooze with Mansion chef J. Chastain

j. chastain is the mansion's new chef de cuisine

eveyone's posing at TACA

tiffany derry-mitchell's scallops

matt mccallister unpacked his crazy suitcase and came up with ash-poached scallops

tiffany derry-mitchell of private/social

crazy good ancho-cocoa rubbed quail with polenta and fig syrup, from tucker's point (bermuda) chef serge bottelli. i've eaten at his restaurant and now i have to go back.

tre wilcox was represtenting, too, with his spicy tuna with cucumber-mint gel and tomatoes

damn, the guy is photogenic

you could win nice bottles of wine at the $25 wine pull

bruno davallion and his pork belly with smoked hummus, pickled ramps and rhubarb (such a nice guy to have so much talent)

stephan pyles went with farmed salmon. Really.

but that's okay, given that stephan pyles is one of the most charitable guys ever, and his chefs are cool, too

tim byres sent dry cured pork with purslane and cantaloupe (i didn't see him there)

corks for the cork pull

brian lusher served a veal and foie gras terrine with beet and walnut salad and golden raisins

even a brief rain didn't stop the party

yep, even chef bruno davaillon stands in line for chef sharon hage's food

nobu's white fish with citrus salsa was soooo good

nobu grilling off the white fish

carlos hannon of rosewood san miguel de allendes served duck tacos

crescent court's juan rosado's tamarind short ribs with crispy sticky rice and pickled veggies hit all the right buttons. need to try his restaurant to see if it's all this good.

Here’s something that will surprise absolutely no one: The Mansion on Turtle Creek knows how to throw a party, and the Mansion’s Stephanie Hutson must be sleeping well knowing that the 2012 TACA Lexus Party on the Green went really well.

Terrific music, outstanding food, meet-and-greets with two dozen of the best resort chefs in the world (including Mansion chef Bruno Davaillon), a handful of Dallas chef luminaries, and a half dozen open bars scattered around the grounds of the Mansion’s courtyard just so the food didn’t get lonely in your stomach. You could win a Lexus, a bottle of wine, a week at a Rosewood resort somewhere exotic, or just stroll the grounds and eat your weight in really good food (though, honestly, for some of the attendees, that would only be an In-N-Out burger’s worth of heft).

I’ve attended the TACA party in previous years, but this year’s was one of the best. Ever.
