Driftwood restaurant hosting free community appreciation barbecue tonight

Jonn Baudoin, the owner of Driftwood, sends word that his seafood-centric Oak Cliff restaurant is celebrating chef Omar Flores‘ birthday tonight, and you’re invited. Baudoin says it’s a meet-and-greet/birthday bash/community appreciation event that’s open to the public. Good eats, free beer and wine. From 6 pm until 9 pm.
“We want to thank everyone for all the local support and thank everyone for welcoming us as part of the community in Oak Cliff,” writes Baudoin. “Chef Omar will be doing an outside complimentary cookout for the first two hundred people to show up.”
Here’s what Flores is cooking’ for his bday:
“-7 spice grilled north atlantic big eye tuna, fish sauce caramel, heirloom tomatoes-Grilled gulf shrimp, pickled ramp salsa verde-BBQ oysters, lemongrass-birds eye chile butter-Heirloom cornmeal crusted ipswich clams, roasted jalapeño-cilantro aioli-Galacian style octopus salad-Spicy scallop ceviche”
Driftwood is located at 642 W. Davis St., near Bolsa Mercado.
