Sharon Hage will create menu for Bowl & Barrel, opening late November
By Mike Hiller
Who’s doing the menu for Bowl & Barrel? Sharon Hage, the locavore chef from now-closed York Street, says B&B owner Kyle Noonan.
As we told you last week, the 15-lane alley in the Shops at Park Lane has an adjoining restaurant that will serve food inspired by German beer halls. Noonan says the menu will reflect a sensibility for American comfort foods.
Styled after the gastropub menu of Publican in Chicago (and, to some extent, Whiskey Cake Kitchen, in Plano, and the Porch, in Dallas, but not Meddlesome Moth), Bowl & Barrel will showcase big charcuterie boards, meats from local purveyors (including Rudolph’s Market in Deep Ellum), German sausages and pretzels, plus oysters and seafood.
“It’s a lot more than a place to bowl,” says Noonan.
