Learjet lands new jet in front lawn of Rachofsky house in Dallas

I’ve seen a lot of cool stuff at the Rachofsky house, the white museum home near the northwest corner of Preston Road at Nortwest Highway, but I wasn’t expecting a this:

Parked in the front yard last week: a Learjet 85, or more precisely, most of a Learjet 85.

“I’ve seen this thing on a golf course, in back of a carriage house, on the grounds of the St. Regis Hotel, but never in someone’s front yard,” admitted a Flexjet representative, on hand for the event.

The occasion was the final stop for Flexjet on an eleven city tour to promote the fleet’s new aircraft. Flexjet partnered with Rolls-Royce, who used the affluent event to showcase their Phantom and Ghost sedans. Kent Rathbun and Abacus restaurant were there, too.

Flexjet is the first fractional jet ownership company to offer shares on the all-new Learjet 85, an eight passenger plane that travels at Mach 0.82.

Most of Flexjet’s 1,000 (or so)  customers are small to medium size companies or corporations, who purchase variable packages of flight time on the jet.

If you have a spare $100,000 lounging around the pool, might want to buy some time on the 85. Or you could make Chris Barta really happy and buy a $313, 000 Rolls-Royce Ghost (warning: it drives like a living room couch) or a $428,000 RR Phantom (who cares how it drives– you’re sitting in back). “Email me,” says Chris (cbarta@parkplacetexas.com).
