Beer business is a big deal around North Texas these days, whether from a small local brewery or an Americanized biergarten. The buzz continues this month as Chamberlain’s Restaurant hosts “Chamberlain’s Brau Haus” as a featured event at the 25th annual Ocktoberfest in Addison, September 19-21. Anybody can have dinner at the Brau Haus, which will featured a 3-course Bavarian tasting menu. The Hatch previewed the offerings as an invited guest and came away impressed.

My preview evening began with bier, Paulaner Original Munich Premium Lager, which Chamberlain teamed with smoked salmon, a potato pancake and chive crème. I gobbled mine down before the chef could finish describing the dish. That’s a good thing, right?

At Brau Haus, Chamberlain will serve braised pork over roasted oven potatoes with jus made from Paulaner Hefe Weizen Natural Wheat bier, which he also serves as the beer pairing, then continues with German sausages atop smoked red cabbage, house smoked bacon and mustard seed sauce.

For dessert, expect cinnamon apple strudel with salted caramel sauce and Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen.

You can snag a seat for dinner at the Brau Haus for $49, which includes admission, souvenir stein, and a $25 gift card for use at any of Chamberlain’s Restaurants. (Reservations are required).

Chamberlain’s Brau Haus,September 19-20: Dinner seatings at 6 pm, 8 p.; September 21: dinner seatings at 4 pm and 6 pm.
