Dallas sommelier alums Drew Hendricks, Jason Hisaw make big moves in world of wine

Congratulations are in order for two former icons in the Dallas wine community. Drew Hendricks, a master sommelier who once directed the beverage program at Pappas Bros.  Steakhouse, has been elected vice chairman of the Court of Master Sommeliers. (James Tidwell, the beverage director at the Four Seasons-Las Colinas, and Austin’s Devon Broglie, of Whole Foods, are other notable Texans on the Court’s board of directors.)

And Jason Hisaw (pictured above), an Advanced level sommelier and another Pappas Bros. alumn, has relocated to Kansas City, where he now runs the wine education program for Standard Beverage Corporation, the wine and spirits company that Hendricks oversees.

Hisaw, Tidwell, Hendricks and Broglie all run the annual TexSom wine seminar, which Tidwell and Hendricks founded nearly a decade ago.
