In a series of dinners held on five consecutive nights this week, Tesar and his crew have cooked with culinary luminaries from Texas (Aaron Franklin), Las Vegas (Alex Strata of Tapas by Alex Stratta) and Portland, Oregon (Naomi Pomeroy of Beast) to raise money for the (RED) anti-AIDS charity. Tonight, it’ll be Tesar and Tim Rattray of San Antonio’s The Granary. The dinners wrap up tomorrow with a meal from Tesar and Kris Morningstar of LA’s Terrine.

Tesar also introduced the crowd at Aaron Franklin’s barbecue-centric dinner to Jordan Mackay, who Tesar announced would be the co-writer of Tesar’s cookbook, Food My Way, planned for release next year. Mackay, a wine and spritis writer based in San Francisco, is no stranger to these parts: He collaborated with Tim Byres and Franklin on their books, too.

Tesar is adding a handful of more seats to tonight’s and tomorrow night’s dinners, so if you want to attend the $150 dinners (all-in, includes wines, gratuity and taxes), give Knife a ring.
