Ascension hosting free wine tasting to support Chefs & Seeds fundraiser

<div id=”yui_3_16_0_1_1445472857028_6231″>Ascension sells top quality coffees, but they also sell fine wines and food from a menu created by Sharon Hage. Today –Thursday, October 22, from 6 pm till 8:30 pm – Ascension will host a free wine tasting with live acoustic music and a gallery of  beautiful artand it’s all free.

That’s right. As a precursor to Chefs & Seeds on November 4, Ascension is hosting an evening of free wine tasting. Enjoy the music of Jake Glenn and take in the latest art installation by Caris Fawcett while sipping a sparking rose from Limoudiniere, a Tuscan cabernet sauvignon/sangiovese blend, a couple of Bordeaux wines, and a Bregio zinfandel out of Lodi, among others.
Is there a catch? Only that you will be encouraged to buy a ticket to Chefs & Seeds. Ascension’s owner, Russell Hayward, is a long-time supporter of sustainable agriculture and community enrichment in rural Africa, and so it’s only fitting that he would show his support for Seeds and Chefs through a show of open-door hospitality.
Ascension is just coming off of a Silver Medal win in the Compak Golden Bean competition, so if you’d prefer to curl your fingers around a great cup of coffee, you can go that way, too.
The free wine tasting is from 6:00 pm to about 8:30 pm on Thursday, Oct. 22.
