First Look: Wheelhouse rolls into Dallas Design District with great design, food, service

I’m really impressed with Wheelhouse, the new casual restaurant that recently opened in the Dallas Design District. Great design, smart service, good food — and a menu chock full of things you really want to eat on a warm, sunny afternoon.  Don’t miss the grain salad with its toasted quinoa, wild rice, shiitakes and ginger-lime vinaigrette, or the roasted chicken with tabouleh and chermoula. And of course save room for a Harvey Wallbanger minibundt cake, brightened with candied orange marmalade and a side of chocolate gelato.

The clean, modern design — and its big open windows that blur the boundary between the outside courtyard and the inside cocktail bar — makes you want to linger, especially.

The kitchen is open till at least midnight every night (and 2 am on Friday and Saturdays).  Big congrats to Team Headington on this one.
