Randy Gehman, longtime pastry chef of Four Seasons Las Colinas, to step down

Randy Gehman, the longtime executive pastry chef at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas in Las Colinas, is leaving his post, retiring after 30 years with the luxury brand. His last day will be September 2.

Gehman’s more than a pastry whiz; he’s an institution at the hotel, beloved as much for his desserts as for his holiday treats– especially the ginormous all-chocolate fantasyland display he makes for the Four Seasons lobby each Christmas.

Gehman joined the Four Seasons Dallas team in 1985 with the opening of the Mandalay Four Seasons (now the Omni Mandalay) in Las Colinas.
Since then, “Randy has opened several properties including, New York, Nevis, Cairo, Jackson Hole, the Regent London and Costa Rica.
Additionally, he task-forced in Palm Beach, Newport Beach, Chicago and Hong Kong, where I first met Randy,” wrote Four Seasons exec chef Christof Syre in a note to his staff announcing Gehman’s retirement. Gehman’s proteges now staff FS hotels in Houston, Chicago, Hawaii, Austin, Santa Barbara and Palo Alto.

No replacement has been named.
