Empire Baking Company celebrates 25th Anniversary at Dallas retail store with chocolate babka, 1992 prices

Brioche, sourdough and banana nut breads all make wonderful french toast. Know what’s even better? Custard-dipped slices of Empire Baking Company’s freshly baked babka, the yeasted multilayer bread marbled with cinnamon and chocolate (The name babka means “married peasant woman” in Polish.)

The babka is one of the fall treats baking in the Empire ovens right now, ready for pick-up during their 25th Anniversary celebration. Toss in a loaf of jalapeno cheddar, sourdough and pane paisano breads, too, which are being offered at their original 1992 prices right now.

Or skip the morning french toast thing and make some babka bread pudding for dessert tonight. Hmmm. Maybe I’ll make both for Thanksgiving.
