Oysters and champagne are half-price this week at Ocean Prime Dallas (but this 6L bottle of Buehler Vineyards cabernet is not)

Oysters and California champagne are at can’t-miss prices this week at Ocean Prime Dallas.

The summertime promotion is keyed to National Oyster Day, but rather than stop at just a day, the Uptown restaurant is selling a half-dozen oysters for half-price — just $10 — every day this week through Friday, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. daily in the lounge. Want to pair some bubbles with that? Glasses of Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs and Rosé sparkling wine are also half-price at the same time, which means good quality bubbles for about $10 a glass.

Can’t make it in this week? Then circle Thursdays on your calendar. The same special pricing runs every Thursday this summer and includes discounts on small plates from the new lounge menu (I’m in for the smoked Gouda tator tots and an order of fish tacos with roasted pineapple pico, which both drop during the 4-7 happy hour to just $7, a $5 discount.

I popped by the lounge on the way to a Buehler Vineyards wine dinner last week and found a rowdy, stylish crowd enjoying more than a couple of glasses of Schramsberg Rose (good choice) and plenty of Manhattans. Me? I fueled up on Buehler Vineyards’ Estate Cabernet poured from a 6 liter Methuselah (that’s roughly 40 glasses of wine) and a multi-course meal orchestrated by OP chef Brandon Moore.

Even more notable than the wine and the food: incredible service from a couple of long-time OP servers (Heath is now my go-to guy there) and a wine list that won’t kill your debit card.
