Flower Child brings Paleo, cocktails, veg-focused meals to Midtown Dallas

Fox Restaurant Concepts has opened its fourth DFW-area Flower Child restaurant, a 6,500-square-foot restaurant adjacent to the Crescent Court complex (and across the plaza from Ocean Prime), bringing its from-scratch, vegetable-focused menu and a new cocktail program to an area hungry for all three.

We popped soon after the lunch hour and were greeted with unfailingly friendly staff.

First, those cocktails. This location is the company’s first to include adult beverages, which favor a wellness theme even though they’re spiked with alcohol. I guess if you work in a high-pressure office tower, that liquor can be a healthy elixir to get you back into the cubicle. If not, then focus on ingredients such as collagen, goji, hemp orange bitters, turmeric and activated charcoal. (A cocktail menu spells out the “wellness components” and their benefits.)

The food menu offers shareable plates such as mission fig toasts with black walnut pesto, veggie dips, turmeric glazed shrimp and chicken skewers with toasted cashews, and entrees such as grilled salmon paired with two veg sides that could include Brussels sprouts and Japanese eggplant.

If you’re already a fan of Flower Child’s other locations, you’ll really like the open look and feel of this new one. If you’re new to the concept, pop in and give it a try. The entire menu is here.
