Eating the Road: Five Best Places to Drink Wine in Vegas
I’m a simple guy.
I love to eat, I love to laugh and I love to drink. Like George Costanza, if I can do all three, I’m in heaven. For me, a perfect meal consists of one part good food, five parts great wine and ten parts salubrious atmosphere. I’m all about eating as celebration, ceremony, and flowing conversation.
So it’s no surprise that I love to find great places to drink wine in Las Vegas. Here are my favorites.
Aureole
Charlie Palmer’s Las Vegas version of his well known New York restaurant comes complete with over 24,000 bottles and 2,700 selections. The wine tower is impressive and the menu is worthy of a long, wine-filled meal. No matter how tipsy you get, do not leave without a photo of you and one of the wine angels
Andre’s at the Monte Carlo
The epitome of a fine dining experience is a meal at Andre’s. Take a seat in the room near the wine cellar, where you can drool over their 12,000 bottle cellar. Let the sommelier pair your wines to your food, and don’t shy away from their by-the-glass selection. Andre’s is a top pick if you are looking for a romantic meal in Las Vegas.
D.vino
Find a spot at the bar where you can sample wine from the Enomatic machine and journey through a quick tour of 18 wines. The food is perfect match for the variety of wines, and the room is great for conversation. With samples of 1, 2 or 5 ounces. your evening is dictated by how adventurous you want to be.
The keys to this kingdom are lunch, wine and people-watching. Sit in the Piazza San Marco, sip a large glass of an Italian red and get drunk on relaxation. There are few better spots in Vegas to waste away an afternoon, and I’ve done it on plenty of occasions. The wine list is heavy on Italian varietals, which often tricks me into daydreaming about my passport and a ticket to Europe.
There’s no other restaurant in town that always seems like it’s about to bust out into a party. The view out the large windows — the reflection pond and the waterfall — will make you want to dance.
