Bottle Rockets: Free Super Excellent Mondavi Wines tasting event at Veritas on Tuesday, June 3

 

You know Veritas, the uber-hip wine store with the inexhaustible by-the-glass list? Well, owners Bradley and Brooks Anderson are amping Tuedsay night up with a special Robert Mondavi Winery event. Gary Midyette, Mondavi’s long-time derector of operations, will be pouring wines at Veritas and speaking about the wines and his history with the winery, a relationship that dates back 30 years.  Gary knows wines; he’s been involved in every step of the winemaking process and can drink circles around even Barb Werley, the master somm in charge of ops at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse (but mainly because Barb doesn’t drink much). If you’re a somm, you know Chris Teague, the key grip at Constellation Brands; he’ll be there sipping and swirling, too; so will wine guy Brian Pack.

The tasting is from 6:30 to 8:30 and is come-and-go, and is free to the public. If you like what you taste, the Andersons will be offering bottles at cut-rate prices.
