Las Vegas’ SkinnyFATS expands to Dallas’ with burgers, bowls, tacos – and one heck of a Nashville Hot chicken sando

Las Vegas-based SkinnyFATS, a purveyor of low-calorie/healthy dishes and big-calorie burger-centric “indulgences” is expanding nationwide, and they’ve opened their first out-of-town venue in Dallas.

Even though I’m up and down and all around the famous Las Vegas Strip many times a year for stories in the Los Angeles Times, The Dallas Morning News and USA Today, I’ve never ventured into a SkinnyFATS. Now that I’ve tried several items on the menu at SkinnyFATS’ new location on McKinney Avenue in Uptown Dallas, I’m a fan.

Ahi tacos, chicken and waffles for breakfast, burgers for lunch, coffees from Dallas’ Houndstooth…the menu is solid. The best thing I tried? A killer Nashville Hot fried chicken sandwich with truffle french fries.

Additional locations are planned throughout DFW.
