Yardbird bringing its southern cooking (and best-ever fried chicken) to edge of downtown Dallas

We’ve all eaten amazing fried chicken, but until you’ve tried the fried chicken at Yardbird, you don’t have clucking rights.

The small Miami-based chain of southern inspired cuisine confirmed today that they will open a 7,000-square-foot restaurant next year at Park District, the mixed-use development under construction across from Klyde Warren Park just north of downtown Dallas. Yardbird will occupy the ground floor retail space in the PwC Tower.

Yardbird opened in Miami in 2011 then quickly expanded to the Palazzo in Las Vegas, where I’ve written about it several times in my monthly Vegas column in the Dallas Morning News. I love Yardbird– especially their gluten-free fried chicken.

Yep, GF. Not because it’s GF, but because the chicken is irresistably crunchier, cracklier and tastier than any other fried chicken anywhere.

They’ve also opened Yardbird’s in Los Angeles and Singapore. The parent company, 50 Eggs, also operates Chica at the Palazzo.
