Hillside Tavern, new resto from folks behind Rapscallion and Boulevardier, opens today

The talented trio behind Dallas resto hits Rapscallion, Veritas Wine Room and Boulevardier are at it again.

Brothers Brooks and Bradley Anderson with chef and business partner Nathan Tate today will debut Hillside Tavern, a casual neighborhood restaurant in East Dallas’ Hillside Village that promises to be just as inviting and affordable as Andersons’ and Tate’s other three restaurants.

Hillside Tavern isn’t fancy, and the menu isn’t fussy, thanks to Tate’s powerful ability to make even ordinary food like muffulettas, burgers and even oysters feel special. Of course, you should also expect well-made cocktails, a solid selection of Texas beers and a killer wine list with plenty of reasonably priced options.

The patio isn’t quite ready and a few other details aren’t complete, but Brooks Anderson says Hillside Tavern will to the public today at 4 PM. The trio says brunch will follow sometime this spring. Can the magic of opening the best new restaurant in Dallas’ in 2012 return with Hillside Tavern?
