Hot Date: April 14 Dallas Arboretum fundraiser for El Centro College’s culinary program features 30 chefs, plenty to drink

<img src=”https://escapehatchdallas.com/wp-content/uploads/img_5319-1.jpg” class=”size-full wp-image-21983″ width=”1200″ height=”628″/>A spring dine-around fundraiser featuring 30 DFW chefs plus big pours of wines, beers and spirits are hallmarks of this year’s “A Tasteful Place” at the Dallas Arboretum on Sunday, April 14, from 5-8pm.

The annual event benefits El Centro College’s culinary education programs, says Steve DeShazo, ECC’s director of the school’s Food & Hospitality Institute.

Tickets cost just $65. Want to help more? DeShazo says the Patron level sponsorship of the Food & Hospitality Institute is a solid bet. Culinary Patrons gain access to an exclusive VIP event experience that includes Old-Fashioned cocktails from the Grapevine, Texas-based Tahwahkaro Distilling Company (serving their Four Grain Bourbon Whiskey), small plates from chefs Junior Borges, Alex Astranti of Uchi and pastry chef Casey Nicole, wines from 4R Winery from Muenster, Tex., and custom-roasted pour-over coffee from Full City Rooster. The VIP area is also where you can hang out with this year’s Bits and Bites honoree, Doug Brooks, the retired chairman and CEO of Brinker International.

Mote details are on the event page, www.elcentrocollege.edu/bitsandbites. You can purchase tickets at www.foundation.dcccd.edu/bits-and-bites-2019
