New Virgin Hotel Dallas taps chef Matt McCallister to lead its marquee restaurant

When the Virgin Hotel Dallas opens this December, a familiar local chef will be leading its flagship restaurant, bar and modern social club concept.

Virgin Hotels typically name their main restaurant Commons Club. That’s only partly true in Dallas – or at least when Matt McCallister is involved.

Instead, the Commons Club will include a second component, a section they’re calling Kitchen by Matt McCallister, which a press release describes as a restaurant to “showcase his talent” and “deliver exciting seasonally driven menus.” McCallister opened Homewood earlier this year based on a similar conceit.

The Kitchen will be open all day, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and will feature an open kitchen, a community chef’s table and a wraparound outdoor patio. Both the hotel and the Kitchen are expected to debut in December.
