Mesero restaurant opens newest location at Walnut Hill and I-75 to big crowds

Mesero, the excellent Mex-Tex restaurant favored for its margaritas, from-scratch moles and even its double burger, opened the doors to its newest restaurant location this week to a big crowd on opening night — without a wink of publicity.

“Please don’t announce it yet,” Mesero’s president, Trey Dyer, asked of me last week. “We don’t want to be slammed.” So we didn’t. They were busy anyway.

“People have been stopping by for weeks hoping we were open,” Dyer told me. “We received our final city permits at 4:45 p.m. Monday and were open for business at 5.” The restaurant has been so busy this week, walk-in customers have been waiting up to an hour for a table.

No surprise; the two-level restaurant has an ideal location (an elevator in the adjacent upscale apartment building opens directly into Mesero) and the dining room is Mesero’s most attractive yet. Go check it out. Preston Hollow Village, 7775 Firefall Way.
