Enrique Tomás opens first U.S. outpost of famous Jamon Iberico restaurant and store in Dallas

Acorn-fed Iberico ham takes the center of the plate – and storefront and to-go counter – of a new restaurant opening next week in Dallas’ Henderson Ave. neighborhood.

Our friend Tina Danze writes today that Enrique Tomás, a prominent purveyor of Spain’s Jamon Ibérico, will open a franchise location of their porky Spain restaurant, lounge and storefront in Dallas on Feb. 12. It will be Tomas’ first U.S. location; the company owns stores across the globe, from Spain to France, Iran, Mexico, the U.K. and Peru. Dallas businessman Ricardo Sieveking is leading the purveyor’s North American expansion.

The 80-seat restaurant at 2822 N. Henderson Ave. will serve lunch and dinner daily. In addition to Jamon Ibérico (cured Iberian ham), the menu will include Spanish cheeses, croquettes, tortilla Espanola, carpaccio, gazpacho Andaluz, Asturian fabada (white bean stew), a pork burger, two different paellas, Galician octopus, stuffed calamari, and trout baked in a salt crust.

Customers can purchase the prized ham from a storefront to take home. An upstairs cocktail lounge with a DJ will remain open until 2 a.m. and serve tapas and charcuterie.
