New Lochland’s Food & Spirits brings neighborhood bistro eats to Lake Highlands

Restaurant veterans Cheryl and Peter Kenny (Dubliner, Capitol Pub, The Gin Mill) will open Lochland’s Food and Spirits in Lake Highlands on Thursday, February 6. The restaurant occcupies a rehabbed building that once held a veterinary clinic that went to the dogs. A spokeswoman for Lochland’s says the new space “features custom carpentry,” “pub tables” and “an outdoor pet-friendly patio,” so there’s that.

What’s on the menu of this pet-and-vet friendly place? Menu items include steamed mussels, flatbreads, fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, salads, burgers and sandwiches, plus “the best pint of Guinness in town,” say the Kenny’s.
Weekend brunch will offer smoked salmon potato cakes, a”hangover sandwich,” eggs Florentine (pictured above) and “eggs Norwegian,” which is just eggs Benedict with smoked salmon instead of Canadian bacon.
