Beloved Houston’s Restaurant in Addison to permanently close Saturday, which means no more Houston(s) in Dallas

June 12: The post was updated with information about the reason for the restaurant’s closure.

There will be wailing in the streets this weekend as DFW’s only location of Houston’s Restaurant closes down for good late Saturday night, June 13.

An insider at the Belt Line Rd. restaurant in Addison confirmed the closure. Was it dreaded Covid-19 that did Houston’s in? Nope. Houston’s decided not to renew their expiring lease, says a representative for the landlord.

But there’s still a bit of hope for pork rib lovers: we hear the Houston’s team has been sniffing around Dallas to build a new Houston’s.

We’ll try to find out more, but in the meantime, if you love Houston’s, get there Friday or Saturday for one last rack of pork ribs.

And I know they’re not the same, but you still have Houston’s siblings Hillstone and R&D in Dallas to salve your culinary wounds. Or you could just pop in to the Mesero down the street for some emergency margaritas and brisket nachos, which make everything better.
