Long-delayed Nusr-Et steakhouse (& its internet-famous chef, Salt Bae) plan to open Dallas restaurant next month

A couple of years ago, social media channels were buzzing about Nusr-Et steakhouse and its Turkish chef, Nusret Gökçe, who gained the nicknamed Salt Bae for the way he dramatically anointed seared steaks with a spray of salt released from his fingertips to his forearm then onto the steaks.

After opening several locations across the globe – including New York and Miami – plans were readied for a Nusr-Et steakhouse in Dallas. More than a year ago, those plans seemed to stall, but insiders say the nearly completed building, at 1900 N. Pearl St. in downtown, is set to open next month. (If I recall correctly, the ownership group is the same team behind Da Mario, the Italian gem in Frisco that shuttered earlier this year. )

At the Dallas Nusr-Et, a general manager has been hired, staffing is underway, and salt showers could start to rain on steaks as early as September.
