Promising new restaurant with Mansion on Turtle Creek, Fearing’s, Haywire vets opens today in Southlake

A group of familiar Dallas restaurant pros are running the show at a new Southlake restaurant that opens today.

Former Haywire AGM Nicholas Jordan Bray, former Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek chef Enam Chowdhury and former Fearing’s Restaurant chef Jose Soto are the trio running Sky Creek Kitchen, the marquee restaurant inside the new Delta Hotel Southlake. Bray runs the dining room and bar, while Chowdhury serves as exec chef/F&B director and Soto runs the kitchen. Sky Creek Kitchen is a casual spot designed for hotel guests and locals alike, a spot for brief cases and shopping bags, but also furry house slippers if it’s been a rough night

The resto and hotel open today with 200 guest rooms, meeting space, a communal bar and plenty of parking for the locals they hope to attract. The smart set will recognize a number of former Fearing’s Restaurant employees in both the dining room and kitchen, while the food crowd will welcome a menu chef Dean Fearing crafted for the space. Yep, a version of his Mansion on Turtle Creek tortilla soup is here, but it’s his ancho-glazed lamb osso buco with grits that everyone seemed to be swooning over at a socially distanced VIPeek Saturday night.
