Haywire expands to Uptown Dallas with second DFW restaurant

The folks behind The Ranch in Las Colinas and Haywire in Plano’s Legacy West development didn’t sit idle while Covid twisted through the world. Instead, they’ve been busy readying a third location of their Texas-centric restaurants, which amplifies the Haywire name for the now-three-unit brand.

The restaurant inhabits the former Water Grill location at 1920 McKinney Ave, but nearly everything else has changed. Haywire’s owners refashioned the indoor-outdoor space with a Texas ranch house theme replete with a rare whiskey library, wine cellar and glass-wrapped kitchen. A broad, canopied patio is double anchored by a fireplace and a colorful Shasta RV that’s been repurposed as a private dining room.

“We couldn’t be more excited for our Dallas debut and can’t wait to serve our delicious ranch to table cuisine to the Uptown community,” said managing partner Christine Agee. “As an Uptown resident, I’m inspired by the local restaurant scene and all the neighborhood has to offer. But there’s nothing like Haywire in the Uptown area.”

“We put everything we know about hospitality and creating great guest experiences into this,” said Judd Fruia, Haywire’s VP of operations. “We’re really excited about this brand and this location.”
