Watch Big Tex come down from his perch at the State Fair of Texas on Wednesday, Oct. 20

Big Tex finished his 69th year as the official State Fair of Texas greeter last weekend, wrapping up the State Fair of Texas’ annual three-week party.

After welcoming more than 2.2 million fairgoers over 24 days, the 55-foot-tall cowboy will be disassembled and boxed up until next year.

Want to watch? The action is open and free to the public beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20 in Big Tex Circle (Grand Avenue and Lone Star Boulevard in Fair Park).

Pearking is available at Gate 5.
