Sunnyland Outdoor Living’s annual North Texas EGGfest will feature prizes and free food, live music, BGE deals at November 13 event

Love BBQ? Love to cook? Love to compete? Know how to use a Big Green Egg? Combine all four at the Sunnyland Outdoor Living North Texas EGGfest on Nov. 13. The annual event (this year is No. 5) features bbq cooking competitions, free bbq samples, live music and plenty of deals on BGE grills and accessories. It’s free to attend, though a $5 donation at the door is recommended (funds raised will benefit the Texas Restaurant Association’s Education Foundation). The even sprawls out across Sunnyland’s parking lot, 7879 Spring Valley Rd at Coit Rd.

Guests will vote for their favorite items prepared on Big Green Eggs. Carter Bloodcare will be hosting a community blood drive at the event, too.

The event begins at 11 am and runs until about 3 pm. If you want to eat, just show up. If you want to compete, you can still sign up for one of the few remaining slots. I’ll be there, too, judging the contest and passing on secrets about my new method for cooking pork rib wings (read about it on Forbes and BarbecueBible, plus here and here).
