Tracy Rathbun and Lynae Fearing, the talented duo behind Shinsei and neighboring Lovers Seafood, have taken over a nearby space with plans for yet another restaurant. But don’t count on seafood to take the lead role at the new, as-yet-unnamed venture.

If your Restaurant Bingo card has a space labeled “Italian Steakhouse,” we’d probably mark that one.

“We are very excited,” Tracy’s husband Kent Rathbun told us, responding to our inquiry (though Tracy did not). “We’re taking over the block.”

“The block” is the southwest corner of Inwood Rd. and Lovers Ln. The space? The now-closed Fireside Pies at 7709 Inwood Rd., which shuttered a couple weeks ago.

EscapeHatch fans (both of them!) won’t be surprised when they read this news somewhere else without attribution. We’re used to that by now.
