Your dinner plans should include this new Frisco interloper from Italy

If you’ve wondered when Frisco would land its next big Italian charmer, circle February 18 on your calendar, the date that Lombardi Cucina Italiana opens for business.

It’s the newest venture for restaurateur Alberto Lombardi, an Italy native whose 15 DFW restaurants consistently deliver quality dining experiences.

At Lombardi Cucina Italiana, which occupies the former Da Mario space at the Star in Frisco, you’ll find plenty to like: housemade pastas, risotti, seafood, wood-roasted seafood, vegetables, Allen Brothers dry-aged steaks,  even osso buco and a hefty veal chop.

The space is a real looker, done up in soft whites and ecrus, lush fabrics and honeyed lighting. Venetian glass chandeliers and two olive trees anchor the main dining area. A generous covered patio outside promises afternoons of prosecco and oysters, the proper salve for a Cowboys loss or to celebrate a business deal.

VP of operations Danilo Di Nardo is the consumate host; he’s assembled a team that knows what customers want — quality cooking, beautiful surroundings, bountiful drinks and accommodating service. They know how to deliver.
