Your favorite new Wordle: FWFWF. Because the Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival is the best eating and drinking you’ll do in DFW all spring

This is big!If you’re into Wordle, the five-letter daily guessing game now run by the NY Times, here’s a word that should be on their list for next week:

FWFWF

Yup, the Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival is back in the rota of world’s great food festivals. The four-day main event returns from its forced Covid hibernation Thursday, March 31. It runs through Sunday, April 3.

Here’s another five-letter Wordle:

IYKYK.

It’ll be four days full of terrific food, drink, and music spread across three primary venues: Clearfork, Whiskey Ranch and Brik Venue. Houston chef Chris Shepherd and Funkytown chef Tuan Pham (of Four Sisters – A Taste of Vietnam) are cooking dinner on Thursday, March 31 here.

On Friday, we’ll be eating BBQ at the Can-Am Pitt Stops event with pitmasters from Zavala’s Barbecue, Hurtado BBQ, Dayne’s Craft Barbecue, and Panther City BBQ at Heart of the Ranch at Clearfork from 6:30 pm to 9 pm (Tickets $125).

That night, it’s Nite Bites at TX Whiskey Ranch for cocktails and live music (Tickets $60).

On Saturday, the Hatch HQ Crew will be back at Heart of the Ranch at Clearfork for the FWFWF Culinary Corral (we’re signing up for the chance to sabre a bottle of Champagne) and its big-flavored walk-around tasting from 11 am – 2 pm at (Tickets $85).

Then of course, we’re hanging around for our favorite FWFWF event, Burgers, Brews and Blues (which we’ve judged every year until now, so yeah, we’re a little sad about that). It’s an AYCE (Wordle should make an exception) fest of burgers and beers at this fun walk-around at Heart of the Ranch beginning at 6 p.m. (Tickets $60)

FWFWF is more than delicious; it also supports a good cause. Proceeds from the festival go to the Fort Worth Food + Wine Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises funds for local grant programs and culinary scholarships. To date, the Foundation has raised more than $200,000 for grants and scholarships supporting deserving culinary students from Fort Worth.
