Shhhh … Nick Badovinus has secretly opened a new Uptown Dallas restaurant with chef Stan Rodrigues on the team mix

Remember when we told you last October that Nick Badovinus was taking over the former Paul Martin’s American Grill space at 3848 Oaklawn Ave., a few blocks south of Highland Park Village? He quietly unlocked the doors this week, unveiling an updated version of his Neighborhood Services restaurant brand. They’re not ready to tell anyone yet, so we’ll do it.

This is what Paul Martin’s interior looked like. Good bones!

Like the NS locations in Addison and on Lovers Ln., the new one specializes in burgers, salads, oysters and all-around good cooking. But now that talented chef Stan Rodrigues is also on Team Badovinus as culinary director, the new location offers an expanded menu that includes pizzas (a Rodrigues talent, honed during his time running Pie Tap), plus more seafood and steaks (Rodrigues also spent time running the ranges at Nick & Sam’s steakhouse, all of Harwood’s restos and FB Society’s 60 Vines).

It’s too hot to cook in your kitchen. If you’re not up for baking a lasagna in your mailbox, this could be an ideal time to check out the new spot.

For now, NSUptown is open nightly Tuesday through Sunday beginning at 5 p.m.
(972) 803-5563.
