Tupelo Honey brings its Ashville, North Carolina Southern charms to Las Colinas with stunning new restaurant

Serving generous portions of from-scratch Southern cooking, Ashville, NC-based Tupelo Honey will open its Texas flagship location in Las Colinas early next year.

Tupelo Honey CEO Steve Frabitore tells me the 5,500 sf space will include 200 seats, an indoor beer garden, and feature an refined Southern decor. Frabitore says the restaurant is slated to open in February at the intersection of Highway 114 and Highway 161.

Tupelo Honey’s menu leans South, with all the usual goodies like waffles, honey fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits, shrimp and grits, plus unexpected items like nachos topped with pimento cheese instead of the usual cheddar, watermelon margaritas, and $100-a-shot sipping tequilas.

The Las Colinas location will be the company’s 22nd store and the second in DFW. It joins a Tupelo Honey at The Star in Frisco, which opened in 2017 and anchors the Cowboys-themed retail development.

We’re big fans of Steve’s, so we’ll be rooting for him — and his newest restaurant.
