Burgers, whiskey, tacos and loud brews head to Grapevine, Ritz flags Las Colinas, while pinball lights up Trinity Groves
In Irving, the Ritz-Carlton, Las Colinas takes over management at the four-star Four Seasons Resort and Club Las Colinas when the calendar flips into next year (You remember that, right? We told you all about that here.) Renderings we’ve seen of John Tesar’s planned Knife Italian steakhouse there look stunning.
Southern charmer Tupelo Honey is under construction a few blocks west. Pimento cheese and sweet tea will be there soon.
And Grapevine is getting four noteworthy new restaurants.
Jack Gibbons, the CEO of FB Society (Haywire, The Ranch at Las Colinas, Ida Claire, Whiskey Cake, 60 Vines) tells EscapeHatch exclusively that the company will soon open a Whiskey Cake Kitchen and a Son of a Butcher gourmet burger restaurant along SH 114, just east of Main Street.
The two FB Society restaurants will open early next year. They will share a new retail development with new Velvet Taco and Rock & Brews outlets, also under construction.
FB Society created Velvet Taco (we broke that news too; yes, we’re all over tacos, burgers, steaks and FB Society). A private equity group purchased the concept and has been rapidly expanding its footprint beyond its Dallas roots.

Details are sketchy, but inside sources tell us pinball machines and cocktails are headed to Trinity Groves. They’ll take over Sharon Van Meter’s former 3015 event and catering space.
