Nitro Burger in Trinity Groves delivers terrific burgers and boozy shakes

Anyone who’s been to Beto & Son in Trinity Groves knows Julian Rodarte (the “son” in the equation) turns out brilliant Tex-Mex —and the burgers at his newest spot, Nitro Burger, are worthy of the same adulation. The basic formula here is simple: double-stacked ground brisket patties, smash-griddled until their lacy edges crisp, set into the palm of a soft Martin’s potato bun. Then Rodarte and chef Aubrey Murphy step in with the fancy ingredients: bacon jam, a punchy “Nitro” sauce, griddled onions, melted cheese, even brisket burnt ends smoked low and slow overnight. These are terrific burgers. Splurge on fries and a liquid nitro-frozen boozy ice cream drink if you’re feeling extra.
