Esports makes big return to DFW with 2023 Call of Duty League Major III this weekend. Here’s the menu that will keep gamers fueled

As the Call of Duty League esports competition returns to the Dallas-Fort Worth area this weekend, Esports Stadium Arlington is gearing up for the battle of the best gamers in the world. And while players may be focused on winning, the tournament organizers have been focused on food. Some of it looks like stoner food to me; gamers just call it food.

Esports Stadium Arlington says the weekend menu was inspired by local cuisines and comfort foods of Dallas.

One dish that caught our eye is the Birria Ramen. This version melds Mexican and Japanese cuisines: beef brisket consommé served with yakisoba noodles and two brisket birria tacos, plus onions and cilantro.

Want something that leans toward couch cuisine? That’s Doritos Elote Nachos, a nod to the popular Mexican street food (Elote, not Doritos). This dish features roasted corn served over Nacho Doritos, topped with queso fresco, pickled jalapenos, cilantro, and a lime wedge.

Want to go bigger? The Optic Burger is mac and cheese sandwiched between two beef patties, topped with smoked pulled pork, jalapeno slaw, and Texas BBQ sauce. Then they add a bag of chips. That seems more exhausting than invigorating, but to each his or her own.

And who knows, maybe the Birria Ramen or The Optic Burger will be the rocket fuel that wins the game. For the rest of us, there’s sushi.
