Austin chef Tyson Cole (Uchi, Uchiko) and barbecue expert Aaron Franklin have opened a second area location of Loro, their Asian-inspired mashup. Its cathedral ceiling, wooden beams, clusters of tables and counter-service ordering give this Addison location a gathering-place informality. First-time visitors should order the crunchy, sweet corn fritters and chili-spiked karaage chicken nuggets. Follow with Loro’s smoked turkey brightened with apricot chutney and mint. The smoked brisket isn’t the Central Texas style you’d expect from Franklin, but its vinegary kick and pickled spices are still terrific. 14999 Montfort Dr., Dallas, (214) 894-5676.
