Out-of-town burgers-and-brews concept rolls into Irving next month, Fort Worth this summer

Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews, the burger concept born out of a garage in Fargo, ND, is set to roll into the Lone Star State next month.

The garage-themed restaurant known for its expansive menu of 50 burgers, 50 brews, and wings will soon open two locations in Texas. The first location, slated to open in mid-June, will be at 3165 Regent Blvd. in Irving, TX. A location in Fort Worth will follow in August.

Founded by a group of friends who enjoyed tinkering on their projects – motorcycles, cars, or just chatting shop – Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews has grown into a nationally known restaurant brand. What started as a few buddies grilling burgers and experimenting with toppings 20 years ago has evolved into burgers like the Twin Cam (topped with peppered bacon and nacho cheese, sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches for buns) and the Glazed Doughnut Burger (featuring American cheese and peppered bacon on a glazed doughnut bun).

The concept’s roots nod to friends gathering to test out the latest burger creations. The spot quickly became known as “Sickies Garage.” Taking a “sickie” from work to spend more time at the garage was a common excuse for absences for those in the know.

Sickies garage-inspired designs include décor from classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles.

In addition to burgers, the current menu also clucks about 25 sauces for traditional and boneless wings, a selection of shareable appetizers, hand-spun boozy and non-alcoholic shakes and malts, and a robust bar menu.

The Irving location will mark the 10th Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews restaurant and the first location in Texas. The Fort Worth store at 6770 Fossil Bluff Dr. will be the company’s 11th.
