Crazy shakes and two-handed burgers from NYC’s Black Tap are now in Dallas
NYC burger-and-crazy-shake purveyor Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer has opened its first Texas location in Dallas’ Victory Park development.
Their original SoHo restaurant debut rocketed their two-handed burgers and towering milkshakes to the most Instagrammed restaurant in New York City at the time.
The menu, originally created by Michelin-starred chef Joe Isidori, offered more than a dozen burgers and signature “Crazy Shakes,” outrageous milkshakes stacked with toppings like birthday cake, lollipops, cotton candy, Pop-Tarts and Fruity Pebbles.
“With the city booming and continual demand from our fans for a Texas location, it’s the perfect time for us to open,” says Owner Chris Barish, who opened the long-gone Martini Ranch in Plano years ago.
When Black Tap opened its Las Vegas restaurant in 2018, inside The Venetian resort, I was mostly nonplussed. I featured Black Tap in my monthly Dallas Morning News travel column about Las Vegas. The burgers were just okay, the shakes were too much of everything.
When I revisited a year later, the burgers and shakes were excellent. YMMV. 2475 Victory Park Ln.
