The Common Table is the new best reason to head to Craig Ranch McKinney
The Common Table, an incredibly popular sports bar and craft kitchen concept with a broad following, opened its second location today, bringing Saturday Hip Hop Brunch, Double Zero margaritas and a late night menu to District 121. The shopping, retail and hotel development is part of a new $250 million entertainment campus in McKinney.
An Escape Hatch fan tipped us off to the restaurant’s opening today and sent us pics.
The Common Table is well-known for that hip hop brunch, which features live DJs, bottomless mimosas and chef/partner Rodman Shields’ menu of breakfast classics like chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, tacos and French toast, each with cheffy twists. We might skip the brunch, but nothing except a shortage of Crestor can keep us away from chef/partner Rodman Shields’ chicken fried ribeye and his brisket grilled cheese sandwich.
The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner daily, with a menu that ranges from salads and sandwiches to burgers and pizzas. Some of the signature dishes include that ribeye and smoked brisket grilled cheese, a Nashville hot chicken sandwich, a bacon cheeseburger pizza and a mac and cheese skillet. The menu also includes vegan and gluten-free options.
Shields is one of the region’s most talented chefs, a guy who knows how exactly what people want to eat and drink these days – and his menu delivers.
The Common Table boasts a large selection of craft beers, cocktails and wines, plus a happy hour from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays. The restaurant has 24 taps of local and national brews, as well as a rotating list of seasonal and specialty beers. Some of the cocktails include the Double Zero frozen Margarita (zero sugar, zero net carbs), Moscow Mule, the Old Fashioned, a Double Zero Margarita on-the-rocks and boozy Sangria.
The restaurant schedules live music, trivia nights, karaoke nights and sports viewing parties throughout the week. The new location sports TVs throughout the dining area and bar, as well as a broad covered patio for outdoor imbibing and dining.
The Common Table is one of the first restaurants to open in District 121, along with Bob’s Steak & Chop House and 400 Gradi. The development is expected to be completed this spring and will feature a park, a stage, a hotel, an office tower and more retail and restaurant spaces.
The Common Table is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday, from 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
