Nando’s Peri-Peri debuts in Addison with South African-style spicy, flame-grilled chicken

Nando’s Peri-Peri, a popular South African restaurant famous for its spicy flame-grilled chicken, will open its first DFW location next month in a space formerly occupied by Yard House in Addison’s Village on the Parkway.

The 2,800-square-foot space is slated to open on December 11. The restaurant sells marinated chicken basted in a diner’s choice of peri-peri sauces, grilled over open flames, and served alongside crispy fries, slaw, and Portuguese rice.

Nando’s Peri-Peri first opened in Johannesburg in 1987 and has since expanded to over 1,500 locations worldwide. The chain made its Texas debut in Houston last August. Locations in Austin and Katy are under construction.

The opening of the Dallas location has generated excitement among Nando’s fans, with about 300 people attending a preview event to sample the food and enter a contest to win free peri-peri for a year.
