H-E-B says it will open a marquee store in Irving, in addition to a budget Joe V’s store also planned for Irving

In a significant move to expand its footprint in North Texas, H-E-B has announced the acquisition of property in Irving with plans to open a store in Las Colinas. The new store will be located at Interstate 635 and Olympus Boulevard, in the former Fry’s electronics store, and is expected to open in late 2026. That’s in addition to a lower priced Joe V’s the company is planning in Irving but further south (we told you about that here).

This development will provide an H-E-B shopping option for residents of Irving, Coppell, Grapevine, and West Dallas. The new store is anticipated to create approximately 700 jobs.

Construction of the Irving H-E-B store is slated to begin later this year, Irving Mayor Rick Stopfer expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the community offers an excellent quality of life that includes best-in-class amenities.

The mayor also emphasized Irving’s central location in the metroplex, which will provide area residents with easy access to H-E-B. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, the Irving Economic Development Partnership, and other community stakeholders in making this announcement possible.

Since its founding in 1905, H-E-B has been a cornerstone of Texas communities. The new Irving store will build on this legacy, reinforcing the company’s dedication to serving more customers in this dynamic and growing part of the state.
