Tacodeli brings back birria tacos as a limited-time special
Tacodeli, the Austin-based taco chain with a significant presence in Dallas, is again featuring birria tacos with consommé for a limited time. This special menu item proved so popular during its last LTO run, Tacodeli opted to bring it back. We’re pretty happy about that.
Tacodeli fills its birria tacos with slow-braised Nolan Ryan beef, Tillamook Monterey Jack cheese, and crema Mexicana. That’s all tucked in a crisped corn tortilla that’s been griddled with a splash of that flavorful consommé. A ramekin of more chile-spiced broth is provided for dipping. We’re big fans of Tacodeli here at Hatch HQ, and the company sent us a big bag of tacos, chips and guacamole to trumpet the tacos’ return.

Birria, a traditional Mexican stew, has become increasingly popular in recent years when served as a taco filling. Tacodeli’s version reflects a localized approach, employing tamed heat but plenty of spice. The chain is known for its creative taco offerings and has a history of featuring limited-time specials that highlight regional Texas and Mexican recipes.
Tacodeli’s standard menu includes a range of breakfast and lunch/dinner tacos. Breakfast options include the Sirloin, Egg & Cheese, made with grilled sirloin, scrambled eggs, and cheese, and the Jess Special, which combines scrambled eggs, jack cheese, pico de gallo, and optional guacamole. Lunch and dinner tacos include slow-cooked beef cheek barbacoa, carnitas, grilled chicken breast marinated in poblano and cilantro, and a vegetarian Avocado Taco with avocado, refried black beans, pico de gallo and cotija cheese.
The birria tacos are available at all Dallas-area Tacodeli locations for a limited time. How limited? They say through February, but we’re hopeful that’s not a hard stop.
